Professional wordpress themes like Flatsome allow for easy editing of display options for different functional pages such as blogs, articles, and stores. Customizing the blog display involves settings for global content, layout, sidebar placement, post lists, and featured posts. The theme offers options to customize the appearance of each post in a list, archive pages, and single posts. For example, users can choose to have a transparent header with the post’s featured image as the background. Flatsome provides a range of customization possibilities for creating a visually appealing and professional blog page interface.
Professional wordpress themes allow you to edit the display of separate functional pages. In Flatsome, for example, we can edit the display for blog pages, articles, stores, etc.
Customize Blog Display
Customize Blog Display is to customize the display of the post and article list pages. To customize the display of the Blog, go to the menu Blog in Theme Options.
First is Blog Global, there is not much here, except for adding characters for the shortened content. The shortened content is usually located below the post title in the post list pages. Add characters […] to let the reader know that the content is still continuing.
Next is the layout. Blog Layout. Include:
- Blog Sidebar: sidebar on left, right, or no sidebar.
- Enable Sidebar Divider: Separate sidebar and content with a vertical line.
- Post layout: post list display style.
The next Post Layout is to customize how the content of each post in the list is displayed.
Blog Archive is a custom display of post list pages, such as categories. For example, when I choose Posts Layout To be List then it displays in list form as shown.
Blog Single Post is the page that displays the article content. You also choose where the Sidebar is located in the Layout. If you choose Transparent Header meaning for transparent website header, you have to choose Title Layout To be Top full.
The featured image of the article will be used as the header background image, including the word header main to end of the article title. Looks pretty cool right?
Below you can also choose the content to display for the article, such as author name, date written, category, author info box, links to previous and next articles, etc.
Next is the option Blog Featured Posts. Featured Posts are special Posts that need to be seen by viewers. With this option, you will allow Featured Posts to be displayed at the top of the post list page.
To select an article as a Featured Post, go to the menu Quick Fix in that article, then tick Paste this post to the top.
