First, you log in to your admin account. Go to Settings > General.
1 Site Title : website title, for example “WordPress Tips”.
2 Tagline : The part will be appended after the title, for example “Nam Moz”
So my homepage title will be WordPress Tips – Nam Moz, the Tagline will only be displayed on the homepage.
3 WordPress Address (URL) : You leave it as default, it is the path to your wordpress. If you do not install WordPress in the root directory but install it in the blog directory, your WordPress Address will be domain/blog.
4 Site Address (URL) : Your root domain, leave it as default.
5 Email Address : Your email, helps WordPress send notifications to your email, your Hosting must support sending emails (most Hosting supports).
6 Membership : Turn on or off the membership registration function. If you want others to register as members, check the checkbox. Anyone can register.
7 New User Default Role : Default registered user permissions:
- Subscriber
- Contributor
- Author
- Editor
- Administrator
From top to bottom, the rights will increase gradually. I will explain more clearly in sections 6 and 7 when talking about users.
8 Timezone : Time zone for the website, If you are in Vietnam then select UTC 7.
9 Date Format : Date display format, you can choose one of the default ways or create custom.
10 Time Format : Same as time format.
11 Week Starts On : The starting day of a week, it can be Monday or Sunday, it’s up to you.
12 Site Language : Language for website, As I said at the beginning of the installation, you can change the language later. You can choose Vietnamese if you want.
