In this post, I’ll guide you on how to "Block Tags" in WordPress. Just like Categories, Tags are a post taxonomy that helps describe related topics in WordPress. Tags make it easier for users to find related articles more quickly.
Create and manage Tags
To manage and create new tags, go to Posts > Tags. Here, you can create a new tag and manage existing ones. The interface is similar to Category management.
Add new Tag
- Name: Tag Name
- Slug: Tag Url (If left blank, WordPress will use Name to generate the URL)
- Description: SEO description for the Tag
- Add New Tag: Click this button after filling in the information to add the Tag.
Tags Management
In the right column, hover over a Tag to see options like Edit, Quick Edit, Delete, and View. You can also select multiple tags for batch actions.
Quickly create a Tag when writing a post
While writing a post, use the Tags block on the right to add Tags to your post. Fill in the Tag name and click Add. You can also see the most used Tags for quick selection.
